+35 years mining industry experience, including five years as CEO of Kirkland Lake Gold where he led a transformation of the company, increasing gold production from 315,000 ounces to 1.4 million ounces and market capitalization from $1 billion to over $13 billion during his tenure.
Former President and CEO of Lake Shore Gold from 2008 until its acquisition by Tahoe Resources in 2016. Mr. Makuch was SVP and COO of FNX Mining from 2006 to 2008. From 1998 to 2005 he held a number of progressively senior positions with Dynatec Corporation including VP operations and prior to that was worked for Kinross Gold at a number of their Canadian operations.
Tony is a Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Honours Applied Earth Sciences) from the University of Waterloo and Master of Science (Engineering) and MBA degrees from Queens University. He also holds a Institute of Corporate Directors ICD.D designation from the University of Toronto Rotman School of Business.
