Paul Andre Huet

Chairman and CEO

Mr. Huet is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation. Mr. Huet served as the Executive Chairman from February 25, 2019 until July 18, 2019, when he was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Previously, Mr. Huet was President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Klondex Mines from 2012 - 2018, until its acquisition by Hecla Mining Company. He currently serves as a Director of 1911 Gold.

 Mr. Huet has a strong command of capital markets and has served in all levels of engineering and operations of Mining. Mr. Huet graduated with Honors from the Mining Engineering Technology program at Haileybury School of Mines in Ontario, and successfully completed the Stanford Executive program at the Stanford School of business. In 2013 Mr. Huet was nominated for the Premiers Award in Ontario for outstanding College graduates; he is currently a member of OACETT as an applied Science Technologist and an Accredited Director.

Leigh Junk

Managing Director, Australia

  • Joined Karora team in March 2023, bringing over 30 years of mining industry experience including executive management and operation roles
  • Demonstrated success in the gold and nickel mining spaces in Western Australia
  • Has served as a Director on several public company Boards in the mining and financial sectors in Australia and Canada
Bevan Jones

Chief Operating Officer, Australia

  • Joined Karora team in September 2022 from Goldfields’ adjacent St Ives gold operation near Beta Hunt where he served as General Manager (St Ives has produced over 16 million gold ounces)
  • Drove material operational improvement at St Ives leading to higher ounce output at lower AISC
  • Over 27 years of experience in mine management and senior leadership roles across Australia and the South Pacific
Barry Dahl

Chief Financial Officer

  • Experienced CFO in the mining sector with over 30 years in accounting and finance
  • Previously was CFO of Excelsior Mining Corp. and spent five years as the CFO of Klondex Mines. Prior to that was CFO of Argonaut Gold.
Oliver Turner

Executive Vice President, Corporate Development

  • Over 10 years' experience in mining industry
  • Formerly Senior Vice President of Precious Metals Equity Research at GMP Securities for seven years following experience in industry as a mining engineer with Wardrop Engineering
  • Holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Queen’s University and is a CFA® charterholder
Michael Doolin

Senior Vice President, Technical Services

  • Mining professional with over 30 years of experience in senior technical and management roles
  • Previously served as interim CEO and COO of Silver Elephant Mining Corp. and COO of Klondex Mines Limited
John Leddy

Senior Advisor, Legal & Strategic Matters

  • 20 years’ experience as a business lawyer and in private equity, specializing in M&A, capital raising / structuring and other strategic transactions
  • Former Partner in Business Law Group (M&A) at Osler, a leading Canadian corporate law firm
Tony Makuch

Special Advisor

  • +35 years mining industry experience, including five years as CEO of Kirkland Lake Gold where he led a transformation of the company, increasing gold production from 315,000 ounces to 1.4 million ounces and market capitalization from $1 billion to over $13 billion during his tenure.
  • Former President and CEO of Lake Shore Gold from 2008 until its acquisition by Tahoe Resources in 2016. Mr. Makuch was SVP and COO of FNX Mining from 2006 to 2008. From 1998 to 2005 he held a number of progressively senior positions with Dynatec Corporation including VP operations and prior to that was worked for Kinross Gold at a number of their Canadian operations.
  • Tony is a Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Honours Applied Earth Sciences) from the University of Waterloo and Master of Science (Engineering) and MBA degrees from Queens University. He also holds a Institute of Corporate Directors ICD.D designation from the University of Toronto Rotman School of Business.
